It's hard to ignore the style dictated by the masses...
"I'm really interested in fashion but at the same time I find it quite competitive.
Second-hand stuff leaves you more open to whatever your own personal style is rather than feeling dictated to by shops."
-Sophie Ellis Bextor
Sometimes I feel like what to wear to Uni/College is one big unspoken competition of whats in fashion in the
stores and who can afford to wear it from head to toe.
Though I tend to feel a bit self conscious if I'm out in something that doesn't
necessarily fit into the mainstream idea of current fashion, the part of my brain that chooses clothes
in the morning never tends to take that into consideration and goes with whatever takes its fancy.
But this outfit came about as a smushing of random items in my wardrobe I love.
I was sucked in initially by the bright colours of my thrifted Kate Sylvester dress (from Tatty's in Ponsonby),
something I normally save for something special, but it can be nice to wear something special on a normal boring day!
A soft jacket with that amazing leather smell, and finally my favourite accessories at the moment;
some on trend spikes, antique family heirlooms, new ring with a star (which my name means in various languages)
necklace, watch - antique
spike bracelet - asos
star ring - Karen Walker
jacket - Just Jeans
dress - Kate Sylvester
I'm in the middle of exams at the moment, so I'm pretty busy, but generally I also have a lot of
intrusive thoughts about blog posts and projects to work on, so I'll share as much as I can :)
P.S. We have a giveaway on yay! So remember to enter that if you haven't already :)
