Why do New Zealander's wear so much black?

Kiwis are well known for their love of black clothing. It could have ties to the history of black sporting uniforms, well known internationally through our love of the All Blacks rugby team. The choice of black sports uniforms has been linked to the availability of black at the time, as well as standing out from other international teams, and not showing dirt as easily. It's often a shock for visitors as to how many people are wearing black. The phenomenon has be said to have started in the 1990's and hasn't shown any signs of going away. New Zealand designers such as Nom*D and Zambesi are known for their iconic love of monochrome and black clothing. Though some people say it looks like we are all going to a funeral, I don't think the sea of black will stop any time soon! I'm personally a huge fan of an all black look. For this outfit I added a khaki tshirt to the mix, but I would say it's still a pretty black look haha!
