How to Dress Like You Mean Business
One of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe is my blue navy suit. We featured it in our workwear lookbook a while ago, but it has yet to feature in an outfit post so I thought it would be a good time to crack it out. I like to call this suit my power suit and today I thought I would share my tips on how to dress like you mean business.
1. Power suit - A good suit has the ability to make you feel extremely badass, trust me. My navy suit is quite fitted and I usually style with a simple top tucked in with the matching navy belt.
2. Red lips - Nothing beats a red lip on any occasion. For this look I thought it complimented the navy suit really nicely. As people say, you can take on the world, but first you will need some lipstick.
3. High pony - When you are wanting to dress like you mean business I think it is really important to have your hair off your face. A high pony is the perfect solution for this and adds a sleek touch to your outfit.
4. Heels - Shoes with some heel are always my go to when I want to dress like I mean business. I read in Kristie Clements book once that heels not only elongate your legs and make you look fabulous, but they also have a very professional appearance and are a must for a job interview. Of course heels for many aren't an everyday shoe, but they are definitely great for a special occasion.
