The Perfect Brown Coat

"Fashion is architecture, it is a matter of proportions" - Coco Chanel

I always forget how much I love this brown coat. It's so perfectly oversized, in that it has plenty of length and is loose in the sleeves, but it's small shoulders keep it from swallowing you like most jackets of its style. If you have been reading SSC for awhile now, your probably recognise it. I thrifted it a few years ago and it's one of those rare finds that you grow to love even more as time passes.

Jacket and Bag : Thrifted

Jeans : Esprit

Shirt : Mirrou

Boots : Novo

Although this outfit looks simple enough, it took me a lot of changes that morning to get it right. I like to picture my outfits in my head the day before so I am nice and organised. But of course, outfits created in your head often fail when brought into the real world. Originally I planned to wear my favourite red winter coat and black boots, but when it didn't looks quite right I ended up wearing creating this look instead. Persistence is key when styling. When an outfit is not quite right, keep trying, because eventually you strike gold.
