Nautical 90's
"I dreamed I was buying new shoes last night," said Ron. "What d'ya think that's gonna mean?" "Probably that you're going to be eaten by a giant marshmallow or something," said Harry.” ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
For those of you that follow me on instagram you might have already spotted this on Ellen in an OOTD. Lets get things straight, this is MY dress (hear that Ellen?). I picked the dress and shoes out only later finding out they were both from boohoo's collection of 'Maritime'. This update on nautical has a 90's influence, including prints like hounds-tooth and many denim options. I was drawn to this dress because it took a current style (drop hem dress, rolled sleeves) and made it feel fresh by combining it with the denim hounds-tooth fabric and asymmetrical hem. After much deliberation over the many choices (#shoeheaven) I settled on these cut-out ankle boots in white to complete the look; comfort and style in one package.

The one problem with being tall (I'm 174cm) is that online shopping often results in things that are too short. Things with 'tunic' or 'smock' in the name seem to be prime culprits, so I would keep that in mind when looking at dresses like this. But if like me, you cant resist, then adding tights works well; especially with the weather cooling down!
