I do quite a bit of sewing; enough that people always ask if I've made things I'm wearing. There are quite a few things I have made that have become staple, well-loved items in my wardrobe. However that is not always the case. There have also been many failures that never stay for long due to poor execution, lack of planning, or just bad luck. Then there are the pieces like this skirt which are a last minute sprint to the finish and not always completely finished. I would categorize this skirt as a success since I made up the pattern and worn it many times (including to the birthday on the evening I made it). Success despite the secret safety pins still holding some pieces together. My approach to sewing includes trying lots of ideas because one is sure to be a good one eventually.

One thing that is just about to be finished is 2013, which seems insane!! Hope everyone has a fantastic New Years Eve to celebrate the year that been and what's yet to come in 2014!
