What I wore: Warehouse Summer Collection 13/14 Preview

“Never use the word “cheap”. Today everybody can look chic in inexpensive clothes (the rich buy them too). There is good clothing design on every level today. You can be the chicest thing in the world in a T-shirt and jeans — it’s up to you.”
― Karl Lagerfeld

So on Tuesday I was lucky enough to go to a preview for The Warehouse's summer collections along with some other nzgirl bloggers! This is pretty much the first fashion event that I've been to so I was simultaneously excitedand super anxious about the whole affair. It turned out to be a cool time looking at the latest clothing/accessories with some yum nibbles. I even spotted some editors/fashion editors of various NZ magazines! The Warehouse, though not a store synonymous with fashion to everyone, is actually where I have found some pretty key pieces in my current wardrobe (i.e. the shirt and boots in this outfit). So I thought it would be cool to share what I wore and some snaps I took from the event

I spotted quite a few things I was pretty excited about at the preview, and I will be doing a post over on nzgirl about
my favourite Garage item. But this pretty bikini, moustache tote, and bracelets really caught my eye! A summer
shopping marathon will be needed soon I think!

Then there was the food; old fashioned lemonade in a cah-ute dispenser, gorgeous salads (Beef + Rocket was
what I chose, super yum!) and a fruit cup (which I ate before the beef since I'm a back-to-front eater). I love food,
so these beautifully presented fresh treats really made me happy!

This week I dabbled in some simple nail art that I saw in both a Lilly Pebbles/ViviannaDoesMakeup video and a post by Meagan Kerr on nzgirl. It actually turned out pretty good, so I'll definitely try this again in other colours (and hopefully get better at doing them it on my left (writing) hand!)

I was pretty happy with what I wore to the preview, even though a lot of the attendees were rocking the skinny jean, heels, cute top combo. Ellen took these beautiful photos of it when I eventually got home post afternoon-uni- lecture. I did feel a little too "fashion" at uni with such full on makeup and clothing choices! One of our lovely followers tweeted to me the quote: "It's fashion, look it up"; totally needed to get that made into a sign to have with me!
