A tradition continued...

"Without tradition, art is a flock of sheep without a shepherd. Without innovation, it is a corpse."
- Winston Churchill

From the Scottish side of our family there is a tradition where a gold sovereign is placed into the
hand of a baby and the way in which they grasp that coin tells you how successful they will be.
There has also been a number of coins held to be passed down when we were old enough.
So my mother suggested that maybe we could try find a sovereign case for my birthday to hold and protect mine.
The search began, and after looking at many different styles it was this victorian one made in 1898 that
I fell in love with.
It was simple but while still traditional looking and I loved the idea of marrying a case with a history of its own
with our little tradition that I hope to carry on.
