NZ Fashion Festival - Mac seminar (trends)

"Just because you want to be glamorous, don't be a sheep about your eye makeup."

Another year marches on, bringing with it little highlights like the New Zealand Fashion Festival.
We missed last years events, and after hearing about how great the Mac Technique Seminars
I had to grab a ticket this year.

The whole event was very well organised, with big screens set up so you could see exactly how the looks came together.

The four trends this seminar was on were called 'Ath-elite', 'Ore-inspired', 'Neo-n', and Nouv'eau' all brought together into either an editorial or everyday look.

Each goody bag (more on that later) also came with a folder with face charts and information about each trend.

The Neo-n editorial look in the making

My favourite trend was probably the Neo-n. "Neoprene" colour against fresh athletic skin.
For outside photo shoots they said it was best to concentrate on one area of colour,
whether it be lips or eyes as a single focus.

Finished everyday look

One product that took my eye was the soon to be released in NZ 'Shop Mac Cook Mac' limited edition  cremeblend blusher. Something I'll have to check out when it reaches our stores

And yes finally the goody bag. The mac seminars are quite well known for these
and I've gotta say it contributed to some of the motivation to skip a lecture to go.
Each bag came with a $50 voucher plus a opulash mascara and lip product.

I managed to luck out with a pro longwear lipcreme in 'dress it up'.
A colour that I have immediately fallen in love with, score!

Overall the fashion festival seminars are a fantastically organised and enjoyable event, we came home with new knowledge (and personally confidence to try) some of the new makeup trends of this year.

There's still another seminar on Friday you can still grab tickets to,
and I'm looking forwards to attending the Collections 4 show tomorrow!
