"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."
- Coco Chanel
Another sewing project is completed from the pile of fabric I have accumulated.
I bought this fabric on a whim, attracted by the pretty colours and beautiful feel of the silk.
I decided to use it with an adapted pattern inspired by Leighton Meesters
awesome peach shirt-dress in Monte Carlo.
I spent every scene in the movie with this dress admiring it...
I incorporated some of the things I liked into my own dress;
the full skirt, cinched waist and buttons down the front, big pockets.
I left out sleeves since it is both for summer and the print might have made it too much.
I also noticed when I was about to sew the buttons on
that they almost perfectly matched my nail polish!
The polish is one of my few remaining non-Butter ones called Waters Edge by L'Oreal.
I'm a bit of a sucker for all things turquoise :)
What's a colour you always seem to gravitate to?
