Achromatopsia for a day...

It's really easy to get colors right. It's really hard to get black - and neutrals - right. Black is certainly a color but it's also an illusion.

Achromatopsia is a set of conditions where a person cannot see colour.

Can you imagine how much you would miss?

No bright flowers or new green leaves peeking out in spring...

Even though I am a sucker for colour

(somehow I always buy lots of colourful things
but early in the morning only feel like throwing on black)

an all neutral ensemble and creme jackets can seem incredibly chic.

I tried to avoid the all black theme
that has been gripping New Zealand since world cup descended.

Instead opting for grey, creme with some black (of course).

My nails were still Jaffa orange
(see yesterday's post for more about the polish or see supercoloured contrast)
so suppose that was cheating a bit...

but it was a fun (almost) challenge anyway...

Mixing up textures and fabrics can always help
make a neutral outfit remain interesting.

How about you?
Do you think you could last a day without colour?
